Hall Upgrade Project
Our Major Project for 2020
In consultation with the school executive, our major Project for 2020 is an exciting new upgrade to the school Hall forecourt and surrounds. This area is widely used by the entire school community and we hope to create a welcoming first impression as well as a versatile space that can enhance all its uses. It is a project that has broad benefit and really needs your support.
Bally is incredibly lucky that highly respected and very experienced architects within our parent community have agreed to work on concept designs. Their brief is to improve access, facilitate gathering and include increased outdoor seating for students to access during breaks. We also hope to include an exciting permanent artwork that the boys will have some involvement in creating. Other works will include a general clean up, landscaping and improved outdoor lighting.
The estimated cost of the work is approximately $750K. There has been significant work undertaken to secure $300K from the Department of Education with the school needing to raise the remainder. At this point we have accumulated funds of $300K but still need to raise the last $150K.
If you are interested in getting involved in a project that will literally change the public face of the school and serve our boys and the school community for decades into the future, please get in touch with Anita at ballyfutureprojects@gmail.com.
How can you help?
Share your skills – we have some wonderful architect parents and a quantity surveyor on the team. We could really use the advice of a surveyor, civil engineer and landscape architect.
Fund raising – volunteers are needed urgently to help organise some activities that will bring our community together and raise money. Bally’s Trivia Night is our biggest fundraiser but was cancelled due to Covid-19. We really need your help to find alternative events and activities.
Gardening – we are going to establish a green wall along the Sydney Rd fence line. We hope to obtain the plants late June and will need lots of help getting them into the ground.
Working bee – the Bally hall could do with a bit of a clean up to clear leaf litter, blocked drains and clean the facade.
Please get in contact with Anita today to offer your support for any of these activities or have fund raising ideas.
